Overview

Manage hydraulic equipment, skid, and valve packages for offshore turret systems, including specifications, vendor review, coordination, fabrication, testing, and delivery.

Scope of work

The Mechanical Package Engineer will be responsible for assigned hydraulic equipment, hydraulic skid packages, and process valve packages used within offshore turret systems. Responsibilities include:

Taking technical ownership of assigned hydraulic equipment, skid and process valve packages.
Preparing and reviewing equipment specifications, datasheets, requisitions and scopes of supply.
Conducting technical bid evaluations and managing technical clarifications with vendors.
Reviewing vendor drawings, calculations, procedures, datasheets and other technical documents.
Following up with vendors on engineering deliverables, document submissions, fabrication progress, and package delivery.
Reviewing process valve packages, including valve selection, materials, pressure ratings, actuation and associated accessories.
Coordinating interfaces with piping, process, structural, electrical, instrumentation, and control disciplines.
Ensuring equipment and skid packages are integrated correctly into the overall turret system.
Reviewing package layout, accessibility, operability, maintainability, lifting and installation requirements.
Participating in design reviews, interface meetings, 3D model reviews, and technical discussions.
Managing technical queries, deviations, non-conformances, and vendor-related engineering issues.
Participating in vendor inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), and punch-list close-out.
Providing technical support during fabrication, assembly, installation, mechanical completion, and commissioning.
Ensuring packages comply with project requirements, applicable codes, and client specifications.
Maintaining complete package documentation, including final vendor documents and as-built records.

Key requirements

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
Experience as Mechanical Package Engineer or similar
Experience managing hydraulic equipment and skid packages
Experience with process valve packages and vendor coordination
Experience managing equipment packages through fabrication, FAT and delivery
Familiarity with applicable industry codes for hydraulic equipment and process valves
