Overview
The role is expected to support a contractor-side engineering team responsible for offshore subsea pipeline and riser design activities, covering detailed engineering and installation support for projects awarded for execution.
Scope of work
- Lead and coordinate contractor-side engineering design activities for offshore subsea pipelines, risers and associated systems.
- Perform and review pipeline design calculations, including wall thickness, on-bottom stability, stress analysis, expansion and pipeline routing assessments.
- Prepare and review technical specifications, design reports, engineering calculations, drawings and material specifications.
- Support riser design, installation engineering and interfaces with subsea facilities and offshore structures.
- Ensure engineering deliverables comply with applicable DNV, API and project-specific standards.
- Coordinate with operator representatives, vendors, installation contractors and multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Manage operator follow-ups, technical queries and engineering clarifications during project execution.
- Provide technical leadership, review engineering deliverables and ensure compliance with project quality and schedule requirements.
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Offshore, Ocean or a related Engineering discipline.
- 10–15 years of relevant experience in offshore/subsea pipeline and riser engineering.
- Proven contractor-side experience with offshore engineering contractors or EPCI companies. Operator-side experience alone is insufficient.
- Demonstrated experience in detailed engineering and project execution for awarded offshore or subsea projects.
- Strong technical knowledge of subsea pipeline design, engineering calculations, material selection and offshore installation considerations.
- Familiarity with DNV-ST-F101, DNV-RP-F109 and relevant API standards.
- Experience using engineering software such as OrcaFlex, ABAQUS, CAESAR II, AutoPIPE or equivalent, depending on the design scope.
- Experience coordinating technical deliverables, resolving engineering queries and supporting installation contractors.
- Ability to lead engineering teams and communicate effectively with multidisciplinary stakeholders in English.
