Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to coordinate electrical engineering activities for oil and gas and energy projects.
The role involves reviewing engineering deliverables, providing technical support, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and supporting project execution from engineering through construction and commissioning.
Scope of work
-Prepare and review electrical engineering deliverables, including single-line diagrams (SLDs), electrical layouts, load lists, cable schedules and equipment specifications.
-Review electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs, UPS systems and associated equipment.
-Prepare and review technical specifications, material requisitions, technical bid evaluations and vendor documentation.
-Coordinate electrical engineering activities with other engineering disciplines, vendors and project teams.
-Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and designers.
-Review vendor drawings, respond to technical queries and resolve engineering issues.
-Support procurement, construction, installation, testing and commissioning activities.
-Participate in design reviews, technical meetings and project coordination discussions.
-Monitor engineering deliverables and support project progress reporting.
-Ensure electrical engineering activities comply with applicable standards, project specifications and HSE requirements.
Key requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Preferably 5–9 years of relevant electrical engineering experience in oil and gas, energy, offshore or EPC/EPCIC projects.
- Experience in electrical engineering design, technical documentation and multidisciplinary coordination.
- Knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, switchgear, transformers, MCCs and UPS systems.
- Experience reviewing electrical drawings, specifications and vendor documentation.
- Familiarity with IEC, IEEE and relevant industry standards.
- Experience supporting construction, installation, testing or commissioning activities is advantageous.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, ETAP or other relevant engineering software is an advantage.
- Good technical coordination, communication and problem-solving skills.
