Piping Designer

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Piping Designer to support offshore Oil & Gas engineering projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing detailed 3D piping models and associated engineering deliverables throughout the project lifecycle.

The role requires strong hands-on experience with AVEVA E3D, offshore piping design, pipe routing, equipment modelling and pipe support design, while working closely with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Scope of work

• Develop and maintain detailed 3D piping models using AVEVA E3D for process, utility and pipeline systems.
• Develop piping layouts and routing based on P&IDs, plot plans, equipment layouts and engineering inputs.
• Prepare piping deliverables including General Arrangement (GA) drawings, piping layouts, isometric drawings, pipe support drawings and Material Take-Offs (MTO).
• Perform equipment modelling and ensure proper piping interfaces.
• Design and model pipe supports using E3D, Plant 3D or equivalent software.
• Perform clash detection and participate in 3D model and design reviews.
• Coordinate with Process, Mechanical, Structural, Civil, Electrical and Instrumentation disciplines.
• Liaise with clients, vendors and other project stakeholders as required.
• Ensure designs comply with project specifications, applicable codes, client standards, accessibility, maintainability and constructability requirements.
• Support piping design activities across FEED, Detailed Design and EPC/EPCC phases.

Key requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Approximately 5–10 years of piping design experience preferred.
• Experience in Offshore Oil & Gas, Marine, FPSO or EPC/EPCC projects.
• Hands-on AVEVA E3D experience is mandatory.
• Strong knowledge of 3D piping modelling, pipe routing, equipment layout, pipe support design and P&ID interpretation.
• Experience preparing GA drawings, isometrics, piping layouts and MTOs.
• Experience with clash detection, model reviews and multidisciplinary coordination.
• Exposure to offshore platforms, FPSO/topside facilities, brownfield and greenfield projects is preferred.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD; experience with Plant 3D, Inventor, SmartPlant 3D/PDMS and Navisworks is an advantage.
• Able to work independently and coordinate effectively with multidisciplinary engineering teams, clients and vendors.
