Executive Geophysicist

Overview

Manage and interpret seismic and well data, evaluate exploration leads, prepare drilling proposals, and support new venture assessments within Malaysia.

Scope of work

• Organise and manage well and seismic data to establish an efficient exploration database.
• Coordinate with geology, geophysics, IT, and data management teams to support data organisation and accessibility.
• Perform structural seismic interpretation, velocity modelling, and seismic attribute analysis.
• Identify and evaluate exploration leads and prospects within assigned blocks.
• Conduct quantitative seismic interpretation including rock physics modelling, seismic inversion, and seismic reservoir mapping.
• Collaborate with geologists and external technical specialists to assess reservoir and fluid properties.
• Work with geology and operations teams to identify and recommend drilling prospects.
• Prepare exploration drilling proposal summaries, including exploration risk assessments.
• Support planning and execution of seismic surveys, site surveys, and well data acquisition including vertical seismic profiling (VSP) and sonic data acquisition.
• Support geological and geophysical assessments of new venture opportunities.
• Provide technical input to exploration and business development evaluations.
• Coordinate with regulatory stakeholders, joint venture partners, and technical service providers on exploration activities.
• Work closely with internal teams to support timely delivery of exploration studies and project activities.
