Overview
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer (Rotating & Static Packages) to support the Mechanical discipline team for an offshore oil & gas project in Kuala Lumpur.
This is a hands-on detailed engineering role covering rotating equipment and static package integration, working closely with the Discipline Lead and Engineering Lead.
Scope of work
- Prepare and check mechanical equipment datasheets and other discipline deliverables
- Perform technical bid evaluations and review vendor documentation
- Provide equipment layout and maintenance access inputs
- Conduct technical pre-reviews of mechanical deliverables before formal review
- Identify and raise technical issues, missing inputs, and design deviations early
- Support interdisciplinary checks and resolve clashes affecting mechanical equipment
- Coordinate technical interfaces related to rotating and static equipment packages
- Support less experienced engineers when required
Key requirements
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 7–12 years of experience in oil & gas detailed engineering
- Direct offshore topsides detailed engineering experience
- FPSO or FPU project experience is highly preferred
- Practical experience with rotating equipment including pumps, compressors and/or turbines
- Experience with static equipment and package integration
- Experience preparing datasheets, technical bid evaluations and vendor document reviews
- Strong interdisciplinary engineering and vendor coordination exposure
- Full professional proficiency in written and spoken English
