Overview
Lead the delivery of an onshore oil and gas facility project, overseeing engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning activities. Ensure execution meets the approved scope, schedule, budget, quality and safety requirements.
Scope of work
-Manage overall project execution from planning and mobilisation through construction, commissioning and handover.
-Develop and maintain the project execution plan, schedule, budget and resource requirements.
-Lead multidisciplinary teams and coordinate interfaces between engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning.
-Act as the primary project contact for the client, consultants, subcontractors and suppliers.
-Monitor project progress, costs and performance; implement corrective actions to address delays or deviations.
-Oversee subcontractor performance and ensure adequate manpower, materials and equipment are available.
-Ensure site activities comply with contractual obligations, technical specifications, HSE requirements and quality standards.
-Manage project risks, technical issues and changes in scope, including their cost and schedule implications.
-Coordinate with commercial and contracts personnel on variations, claims and contractual correspondence.
-Chair project meetings and provide clear progress reports, forecasts and escalation of critical issues.
-Oversee construction readiness, testing, commissioning, punch-list closure and final handover.
-Ensure project records, approvals and completion documentation are maintained.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or a relevant discipline.
- Relevant project management experience in oil and gas, preferably involving onshore facilities, receiving terminals or pipeline infrastructure.
- Proven experience managing multidisciplinary teams and site construction activities.
- Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, contracts, procurement and risk management.
- Ability to interpret engineering documents, construction schedules and contractual requirements.
- Familiarity with applicable HSE regulations, quality standards and construction practices.
- Strong leadership, stakeholder management, negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in project reporting tools; familiarity with Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project
- Project management certification, such as PMP, is an advantage.
