Senior General Manager, Project Development

Overview

Leads Kuala Lumpur luxury property development projects, coordinating planning, approvals, sales, marketing, budgets, profitability, launch readiness and delivery.

Scope of work

Lead luxury and high-end property development projects in Kuala Lumpur, integrating development execution with sales, marketing and financial performance from planning and approvals through launch and delivery.

• Provide senior leadership accountability for luxury and high-end Kuala Lumpur projects, including budgets, profitability, approvals, launch and delivery.
• Drive business planning, growth and product differentiation.
• Lead the development programme, aligning planning, approvals, launch readiness and delivery milestones across internal teams and external partners.
• Oversee development budgets, profitability and contract awards.
• Review cost, revenue and cash-flow assumptions with relevant teams, and address commercial risks and performance gaps.
• Guide high-end product positioning with design, sales and marketing teams, aligning development decisions with target customer expectations and commercial objectives.
• Lead coordination of sales and marketing planning, launch preparation and performance reviews.
• Align launch plans with project readiness and commercial strategy.
• Oversee authority approvals and coordinate consultants, contractors and internal stakeholders to resolve issues.
• Ensure site quality, improve operational efficiency and drive timely delivery against agreed cost and quality objectives.
• Set clear responsibilities and performance expectations, develop project leaders and escalate material risks with actionable recommendations.
• Maintain management visibility of progress and profitability.

Candidate requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering.
• At least 15 years of property development experience.
• Demonstrated leadership of luxury or high-end property development projects in Kuala Lumpur.
• Experience spanning sales, marketing, budgets, profitability, authority approvals, launches and delivery.
• Evidence of senior leadership, cross-functional decision-making and measurable commercial achievements.
• Candidates should substantiate suitability through responsibilities held and outcomes delivered, including luxury or high-end Kuala Lumpur projects personally led, development value, scale, stage and accountability; budget and profitability performance, cost improvements and sales or launch results; approval milestones, launch and delivery performance; team structure; and resolution of major project challenges.
• Mandarin proficiency is preferred.

The role is a permanent position directly with our client at Wisma our client, HQ. Candidates available immediately or with a notice period of up to 90 days are welcome.
