Senior Mechanical (Rotating) Engineer - Gas Turbine Generator & Gas Lift Compressor Package

Overview

Our client, an Offshore Oil & Gas EPCC contractor, is looking for a Senior Mechanical (Rotating) Engineer for a 1-year contract based in their KL office.

The role focuses on post-award package management for Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) and Gas Lift Compressor (GLC) packages, covering vendor engineering management through to pre-commour clientioning.

Scope of work

• Vendor engineering management during detailed engineering and execution phases
• Technical review and approval of vendor deliverables: documents, datasheets, calculations, GA drawings, P&IDs, cause & effect charts, I/O lists, control narratives and package interface documents
• Interface coordination with Process, Instrumentation, Electrical, Piping, Structural, Construction and Commour clientioning teams
• Package fabrication follow-up, FAT and inspection support
• Construction and installation support
• Pre-commour clientioning, commour clientioning, mechanical completion, punch close-out and system handover activities

Key requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
• 12 to 15 years' experience in Oil & Gas EPCC projects as a Rotating Equipment Engineer
• Proven experience as Package Engineer or Rotating Equipment Engineer for Gas Lift Compressor (GLC) packages
• Proven experience as Package Engineer or Rotating Equipment Engineer for Gas Turbine Generator (GTG) packages
• Strong experience managing equipment vendors during detailed engineering and execution
• Experience reviewing and approving vendor documents, datasheets, calculations, GA drawings, P&IDs, cause & effect charts, I/O lists and control narratives
• Experience supporting package fabrication, FAT, inspection, installation and construction
• Hands-on pre-commissioning, commissioning, mechanical completion, punch close-out and handover
• Ability to coordinate across multidisciplinary teams
• Preferred: has managed GTG / GLC packages on offshore EPCC projects and can take over package execution with minimal onboarding
• Availability: within 2 weeks, maximum 1 month
