Overview
Develop and update 3D geological models, integrate geological data, assess uncertainties, and provide technical recommendations.
Scope of work
The Senior Geologist will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and updating three-dimensional geological models. They will interpret and integrate well, seismic, stratigraphic, and structural geological data to support reservoir characterisation and development activities.
The role includes performing structural framework, stratigraphic correlation, facies distribution, and property-modelling work, as well as assessing geological uncertainties and their impact on subsurface outcomes.
The individual will integrate geological findings with geophysical, petrophysical, and reservoir-engineering studies, prepare geological maps, cross-sections, technical reports, and presentation materials, and conduct quality checks on geological data and models.
Participation in multidisciplinary technical reviews and workshops, providing technical recommendations to support exploration, appraisal, field-development, and operational decisions, and ensuring compliance with technical standards and project requirements are also key responsibilities.
Key requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, Earth Science or a related discipline
- Proven Oil & Gas industry experience in geological modelling and subsurface evaluation
- Demonstrated experience developing and updating static geological models
- Strong knowledge of structural geology, sedimentology, stratigraphy and reservoir characterisation
- Proficiency with relevant geological modelling and subsurface interpretation software
- Ability to integrate geological, geophysical, petrophysical and reservoir data
- Strong analytical, technical-reporting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary subsurface and engineering teams
